Something missing!

July 30, 2012

Where in the heck does time go? I can't even believe that August is just about here. I remember when I was younger folks stating " Time just flies by as you get older!" They were'nt lying. I have had a great summer, but something is missing. Not sure what it is, but once I figure it out I will let you know. For now it's get in the pool early, because otherwise bring the soap and take a bath outside.  One thing for sure God is good and so is life. Even when something is missing.

Almost 1 year later...

It's almost been a year of retirement and guess what? It's not so bad. With all the friends and family asking "what are you going to do now?" It's actually nice to do whatever the heck you want. The first few months literally consisted of sleeping in everyday and I finally had to nip that, because I felt as
though my life was being used to make up for all the sleep I lost when I was younger and dating, lost of sleep when the babies came along or the sleepless nights of hot flashes. Oh Joy!

My sister and I started a business HIDE AND SEEK PROFILE RESEARCH. aka Background checks. We haven't made our first million, but we are having fun. We love our business lunches and
shopping the most. LOL No, it has been fun and most importunately my husband hasn't asked me to
go back to work, because I am driving him crazy.  All in all Life is good, but only because God is good.

Now what...

Exactly, "NOW WHAT?" Okay, this is the actual official 1st week of retirement. My school friends have all gone back to work and all the students are back in the classroom. As for me no
fireworks or busy schedules or much of anything. My Jill left back to school and so here you have it. The love of my life who just glided into retirement and me feeling kinda lost. Worked out-check, went to the movies -check, slept in- check, went to the dentist (highlight of the -week,NOT) check, went to Target- check. What the F--K!? I will be okay, I just keep repeating this to myself and I will be okay. Lol Funny isn't it? You can't wait for the big day and BAM! What happen? Life is good and I am thankful to God above for all he has given me and retirement is one of those things. Although, I'm not too sure what to do with it yet, but I'm sure I will in time .

TA-DA!!

Ta-Da.. I did it. I walked out of the school with tears in my eyes and great memories in my heart. The funniest part was watching my principal and asst. principal running after my car as I drove off. Good times and new adventure...just bring it!!! I hope that Jeff is ready for it!!

LISTEN

I just finished this book and oh it holds so true. Words are hurtful in any manner. A very good book and one you just can't figure out until the end. Great read.

Tap, Tap,Tap

Well, I looked at the name of my blog and had to laugh. Definitely my body is growing up and I guess am just not ready for it. I have always wanted to learn to tap dance and last September I had the opportunity to start classes and so with the encouragement from Jeff and Jill I did. 5 months later I am going to have to stop. Oh my aching knees... went to the Dr. and was told I have arthritis in both my knees and chondromalacia (soften of the tendons). Really? So I could either continue and after every tap go ouch or start taking better care of myself such as eating better, wearing my braces, and strengthening my quads. So I chose the latter. I figure that I have full filled one of my things on my list of things to do before I go up to see my parents. Life is funny as we all know. I guess the thing that I am trying to say. Is if there is something that you want to do, then you must at least try it. Even if just for 5 months. Life is grand and not so grand! But if that is the worst thing that is happening to me in 53 years...not too bad. :0)

Baby it's cold out there...

They are calling it the Winter Storm of 2011! And I guess it is seeing that schools have been closed for 3 days due to the tempatures not getting out of the teens. The funny thing is that people tend to forget that down here in the Dallas area we are not equipped for these types of conditions. People complaining about no power, but forgetting that at least they shelter. I for one am thankful and it may not be the weather in St. Croix it is Texas and we will survive the "Winter Storm of 2011".
